Artistic Etchings- Shutter Card

Hello there I hope you’re enjoying your Sunday, weather here has been so mixed this last few days.
I spent the bestest few days with one of my good friends Moira a demonstrator from France. She stayed with us for a few days and we crafted till the wee hours of the morning indulged in midnight feasts drank a few bottles of fizzy and had a  really great time and she enabled me to a Thermomix (I NEED one now do you have one? let me know if you do), and I am so missing her today. I absolutely loved having her here and I cannot wait till I fly to France to craft in her lovely room. I haven’t got any pictures at all would you believe it? we were so busy working on a very special project that I will share with you later along with the disaster that couldn’t be averted, and didn’t took one photo at all.
Anyway enough blah blah I am sharing a commission I had to make for someone, a 21 Birthday card.
I am not good with personalizing cards but needs must and all that and this is what I ended up with.
Is a Shutter card and I have to admit the first one I have ever made Surprised smile, I know I must be the last crafter in the land to attempt one of these. I love and admire all the intricate fold cards but not really interested in making them. I always think they are fiddly to do and shy away from them, well I was wrong again as this was way easier that it looked .
I have used the gorgeous Artistic Etchings stamp set from the main Stampin’Up! catalogue and the Love letter designer paper collection. They go together really well and were an obvious choice for a not to girly 21 year old.
Here’s a Birdseye view

  4. Fabulous, Monica!! And I'm adding Artistic Etchings to my wish list to be ordered very soon.. wish I'd got it months ago! ;o)

  5. Wow, super card Monica! Love that dsp. I love fiddling with fold cards but haven't tried this one yet.
I first saw a Thermomix three years ago and fell in love with it but couldn't really justify buying it then, so watched my friend use hers. I bought one for my Daughter's birthday in June, and when hers was delivered decided to get one for myself. My delivery and demonstration will be on Friday night - wish you could pop over !!!
I was recently diagnosed with fructose and lactose intolerances and I think this will enable me to make all my own food from scratch. Such a time saver !! I watched "Chef Laurent" make Lemon curd for tarts in six minutes !! took me 40 minutes of stirring to make a batch of lime butter the other day and with a tree full of limes that's going to be great.

  6. Hahaha... I've never made one of these so you're not the last one. Even my daughter who is 13 has made one! Absolutely stunning card Monica, but then all your cards are gorgeous.

  7. Who says you can't make good personalized cards? I think this is fabulous and gorgeous!! The box is a great presentation idea! I love to make the unusually folded cards because they have such WOW appeal - and with how you decorated this card it has double WOW!!

  8. OMG! This is the most wonderful example of a shutter card that I've ever seen --- and I've seen a ton of them! Your work is so lovely!

  9. WOW Monica, this is absolutely fabulous, you're so talented.

Thank you for taking the time to leave me a comment, I really apreciate it as I love hearing from you. Hugs Monica xxx
